Nurse Advisor Registrant Quality

About the role:

Te Kaunihera Tapuhi o Aotearoa/Nursing Council of New Zealand is looking for an experienced senior nurse who will bring their passion and expertise to deliver and develop a range of regulatory services to ensure standards for the registration of nurses are consistently maintained. Working closely with the Director of Professional Standards, Manager and Registrant Quality Team, this role is key to advising on the registration of nurses and nurse practitioners.

Our friendly, collaborative team is growing and we are looking for an additional Nurse Advisor to support our mahi. This role will provide high quality professional advice to the Registrant Quality team, as well as connecting directly with nurses. Examples of the work you will be involved with include:

  • Providing advice on registration and recertification audit for enrolled nurses, registered nurses and nurse practitioners
  • Researching and providing information to assist with decision making
  • Facilitating the Registered Nurse prescribing application and audit process
  • Communicating with nurses in an effective and empathetic way
  • Role modelling and advancing cultural safety initiatives
  • Triaging and responding to queries from nurses, employers and the public

About you:

You will have good understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, as well as the ability to develop and maintain genuine and mutually beneficial working relationships with a range of partners or stakeholders. You will enjoy working autonomously and within a team and will be excited to learn and share. You will also have:

  • A post-graduate qualification in nursing or a health-related area, and a current practising certificate with Nursing Council of NZ
  • Experience as a Senior Nurse and with leadership
  • A strong awareness of professional issues and trends in nursing
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and multi-task to meet deadlines
  • A calm and considered approach towards complex issues
  • Strong relationship building skills with exceptional stakeholder engagement ability
  • A commitment to quality improvement
